Special Gas Turbine Transportation Frames

Safelift have just completed the design and supply of a special turbine transportation frame for Conoco Phillips, Britannia platform.

The frame was designed to handle 2 types of turbines currently in use on the platform.

The scope was to provide a frame which allowed the turbine to be safely lifted & transported on board the platform.

To achieve this castors were supplied to fit to the frame at the landing area to allow the turbine to be moved closer to the installation point.

In addition, one end frame was designed to be detachable to aid the removal of the turbine due to low headroom restrictions once in place to negate the need to lift the turbine over the full frame height.
